Authenticity Policy

Our Commitment to Authentic Designer Goods

Our Commitment

Swap My is committed to maintaining a marketplace free from counterfeit, replica, and unauthorized designer goods. We take authenticity seriously and have implemented strict policies to protect our community.

Prohibited Items

The following are strictly prohibited on Swap My:

  • Counterfeit designer goods
  • Replica or "inspired by" items marketed as authentic
  • Items with fake logos, branding, or trademarks
  • Unauthorized reproductions of designer pieces
  • Items advertised using terms like "AAA," "1:1," "mirror copy," or "dupe"

Seller Responsibilities

When listing designer items, sellers must:

  • Confirm the item is 100% authentic
  • Provide clear, unaltered photos of the item
  • Include authentication details when applicable (serial numbers, logos, hardware)
  • Not misrepresent or falsely brand non-designer items
  • Comply with all brand-specific photo requirements

Authentication Requirements by Brand Tier

Tier 1: Standard Brands

Standard product photos required. Sellers must confirm authenticity via checkbox.

Tier 2: Premium Brands

Requires logo close-up photo + authenticity confirmation.

Tier 3: Luxury Designer Brands

Requires comprehensive authentication photos:

  • Front and back of item
  • Logo close-up
  • Interior label
  • Serial number (if applicable)
  • Hardware engraving (bags, accessories)

Community Reporting

We encourage our community to report suspected counterfeit items. All reports are reviewed by our team. Users can report listings directly from the product page.

Enforcement & Consequences

Violations of our authenticity policy result in the following actions:

  • 1st Strike: Warning issued, listing removed
  • 2nd Strike: 7-day account suspension
  • 3rd Strike: Permanent account removal
